朝は寒い。こちらに人は脂肪があるのか半袖でも平気そうだが、日本人には上着が必要。昼は暑くなるので調節のできる服装が必要だと思う。シャワーの温度がマックスでも38度。他のシャワーを同時に家族が使ってしまうと温度が上がらず寒いので、注意した方が良い。

日本の食材はスーパーや中華食材店などで割と手に入りますが、日用品は手に入らないので、箸（割り箸なら売ってますが）は持参した方がいいかと思います。あとこちらで売ってる折り紙は、紙の質が日本のものとは違って折りづらいので、日本から持参すべきです。書道をやろうと思って墨汁を持参しましたが、制服が汚れそうで使えません。書道をやるなら洗濯で落ちる、という墨汁が良いと思います。

１０月８日はThanksgivingで祝日でした。夕食は家族や友人、親戚が集まって丸ごとのターキーやパンプキンパイを食べました。カナダのThanksgivingはアメリカより１カ月早いそうです。何となくハロウィンと混同していましたが、ハロウィンは１０月３１日です。Thanksgivingが終わる頃からスーパーでは食用ではなく彫刻用の大きなカボチャが山盛りになって売られます。
今月は例年に比べて雨の降る日が少なかったそうで、とても気候の良い、過ごしやすい日々でした。

私の住んでいる地域では、１０月初旬に雪が降りました。１１月前ですが０度前後の気温です。ただ、ユニクロのヒートテックを着て、ユニクロのライトダウンを着て自転車に２０分くらい乗ると、汗をかきます。

I think the area where I live in Ottawa is
well-equipped to be easy to live in. It is very safe and there are many shops
just a few minutes walk away. Public buses come and go frequently, and trains
run every ten minutes, depending on the location. There are greenery all over
the country, and the climate is not so different from Japan. Since I don't
particularly care about it, it's too much for me.
However, it gets cold from the
beginning of October and sometimes it gets as cold as the beginning of December
in Japan. According to the Host family and the schoolteacher, it will be about
-30°C in January - I thought I would start with a -30°C package beforehand in
Japan, but it will be made for the climate of Japan, too.
Canada is often
described as a place where prices are high, but many of them are of appropriate
quality. I think small articles and amenities are useless and expensive, so I
recommend that you purchase them in Japan in advance, but I think it is
better to purchase coat and winter shoes locally, and then wear high-quality
articles to make yourself comfortable.Located in the same northern hemisphere as
Japan, the climate is very much the same as Japan. However, the problem is the
cold, and the difference in the environment makes it easier for me to get sick.
It doesn't matter to anyone who isn't planning to come to Canada at this time of
year, but I recommend that you do so when you come.
お金はキャッシュよりもカードの方が楽でいい。どの場所でもカードが使え、銀行に行かなくて済む(利息約3%かかります)のでカードがおススメです。コンセントについては、日本と特に変わらないので電圧変換機等は必要ないと思います。Ottawaの冬はとても寒く、早いとハロウィンから雪が降ります。大体－10℃から－20℃、寒い年には－30℃になるそうです。そのため、手袋(ミトン)、フード付きのロングコート、帽子、マフラー、ブーツが必需品です。ブーツやコートは現在で買うと高額になりますが、日本の物とは質が違うくらい防寒できるので、現地で買ったほうがいいと思います。
